…….espcially for Devon’s nature and environment, as Kate Hind, Devon County Council’s Partnership Officer, explained to Coastwise members.
The DCC Devon Local Nature Recovery Strategy, currently in a consultation phase, is a wide-ranging activity with many strands and many contributors :-East Devon,Teignbridge, South Hams, West Devon, Torridge, North Devon District Councils, Mid Devon Borough Council, Torbay Council, Exeter and Plymouth City Councils, Dartmoor National Park, Exmoor National Park, Natural England.
It covers the whole county area, with some liaisons with Cornwall and Somerset, and urban, rural, and coastal areas, protected landscapes (e.g. Dartmoor/Exmoor NP’s, East/South Devon NL’s), key habitats and ecological networks- mapping nature recovery opportunities across all land types.
The strategy can be explored at https://www.naturerecoverydevon.org.uk/, and it includes species and habitat mapping, special species and species of concern. There’s lots of material included for further exploring.
