Coastwise survey results forthe year were presented to Coastwise members by Debbie and Paula, with a refresher on taking appropriate identication photos – not always easy. It’s essential for the DWT verifier to have clear, reflection-free photos of key features of the fauna or flora.
Debbie showed the Coastwise input to the SW records and emphased the need for blur and reflection-free photos, withthe right exposure and several views.
Paula took members through the main areas of molluscs, echinoderms and fish, and illustrated the danger of being too pedantic about an ID; it’s not always right !
A great wrap-up of the survey year, and a tribute to the large number of members who went out in a range of the best and worst that North Devon weather can throw at us !
