……with Robin Shrubsole and Judith Tatem’s adventures in Senegal and Gambia.
Robin gave Coastwise members a guided wildlife trip around the Dakar and Gambia River regions, covering the marine, avian and terrestrial life, not to mention a lot of the history and a bit of geology !
The region has a vibrant mixture of heritage culture and history, and a fishing and tourist economy.
Pictured are an Ormer (Abalone) shell, a map of the area with the main centres of poulation and features, the basaltic shore which gives some rocky pool areas, a landcrab and a remnant of the slave trade that flouished in the region during the 18th and 19th centuries.
