A talks series with a difference

The Our Coast series of talks has now run for several years, has proved very popular, and is now entering its 10th session.  Although many of those attending are regulars, newcomers are very welcome and soon feel at home. Remember that Coastwise is not just about coming to the talks – it’s about participating in a programme of coast-related activities such as beach surveys and the Shore Safaris.

We also run an Autumn talks programme and have a summer outside programme, meeting at beaches to update our beach profiles, and the Shore Safari programme (see main menu).

So how is it different?

  • It is our course about our coast
    • an independent venture run by volunteers
    • everything you have always wanted to know about the coast but haven’t known who to ask
  • Lots of speakers drawn from various organizations
  • Opportunities for everyone to contribute (or not)
  • Sharing information and experience
  • Enthusiasm – is the only requirement
  • Chances to discuss, find out, and make friends
  • Attendance at individual sessions open to those working/studying in related fields

The new programme is a mix of talks from visiting speakers, field trips, and contributions from members of the course.  Hopefully it will prove attractive to new and old members alike.  Book now to make sure of your place.

If you want to know more, just ask.
