There's a completely different perspective on the marine world available to divers, and Sally Sharrock from Seasearch Devon came all the way from Plymouth and gave Coastwise members a window on this fascinating and colourful world, and the work that Seasearch does.
Seasearch, which is supported by the Environment Agency and the Marine Conservation Society, is one of the very few organisations carrying out structured observation and research on marine habitats on a national scale.

To reflect the interest in terrestrial as well as marine natural history, Coastwise has been running more activities including birding trips. The latest (for report and picture, click here) was on February 8th along the Taw estuary, and was a huge success.

Coastwise is a lot more than a series of talks. The Winter 2011 Newsletter outlines how to get involved with some of the other activities, including how to go microscopic with microscopes, go macroscopic with MCZs, and simply be happy on a beach with Shore Safaris !
