Saunton Marine Life....think small occasionally...

.......as many of the more interesting animals only show themselves, or allow accurate identification under moderate magnification.

This is one of the many lessons that Coastwise founder and self-taught marine enthusiast Paula Ferris has taught less knowledgeable members.

As part of the Coastwise response to the C-19 restrictions, members have been organising talks via Zoom, which are becoming more popular, even with the less tech-savvy of us.

Round the bend........

......at the end of the country on the South West Coastal Path.

Continuing our programme of Zoom talks as a substitute for the cancelled (at the moment) Summer Outdoor Programme, member Martin Corfe took us on a journey round the Devon, Cornwall and Dorset Coasts.

He and his wife and dog have walked the path in stages between 2009 and 2015, using caravans as a base.

Zooming in on Coastal Birds.....

......with Coastwise member Martin Batt.

Like all organisations Coastwise has been severely affected by the C-19 restrictions, and the summer programme of outside activities has had to be abandoned for the time being. However, there is a thriving communication process based on Facebook and Whatsapp, and as an experiment, a talk on coastal birds was delivered using Zoom.

Martin is a knowledgeable birder, and talked about birds seen and photographed on the Farne Isalnds, Alderney and North Devon, all places where he has lived and worked.

Coastwise Can't Meet....but that's not stopping us !

This is a small collection of pictures posted on the Coastwise Whatsapp Group, where members have been using their Daily Walk productively, noting and appreciating all around them and sharing their thoughts (and recipes) with others !
